Thursday August 11 - Bletchley Park

Bletchley Park is a very popular tourist attraction, especially following the blockbuster film The Imitation Game.
A lot of money has been spent restoring this WWII code breaking site and there is a lot of history and artifacts to see.

This can be a full day experience for anyone interested in the activities of Bletchley Park during the Second World War.
Admission is £17:25 for an adult or £15.25 for seniors and this ticket will permit return visits for free - valid for 12 months.

The grounds of Bletchley are picturesque with the lake and manor house so we are suggesting bring a picnic and we can meet up on the main lawn where there are tables and chairs provided. There are restaurants and cafes on site and if the weather isn't so great we might prefer indoors.

We suggest you arrive around 10:00 to start your experience then we plan to meet up for lunch at 1:00pm.
There are complimentary guided tours that explain some of the history and these generally need to be booked on arrival.
You will also be provided with an i-phone-like video unit and a headset so you can independently gain a little more information on specific locations
POSTPONED due to weather Saturday 1 December - Guided Visit to London
Due to a poor weather forecast for Saturday we have decided to postpone this trip.

Terry, our chairman, is from London so knows the nooks & crannies well and will lead a walk with multiple tourist stops in London.
We will meet up at CMK railway station around 09:45am to ensure we catch the LNW 10:07 fast train to Euston.
Our recommendation is to purchase a day return to Euston with LNW ( London North Western ) and a travel card for the underground unless you prefer paying for each journey separately. If you are able to form a group together to purchase tickets there are very good group discounts but you have to travel together - something to consider when thinking about returning.
Depending on individual preferences for the evening our plan is to end the group tour by 7:00pm.
If it is a particularly nice day and our energy is not totally exhausted we might try and visit a Christmas market but this is not presently on the itinerary. People will be free to break away and do their own thing if they wish, return earlier or stay later.

If the weather is forecasted to be horrible then we will cancel the trip at the last minute and if there is planned engineering work on the rail network meaning long delays or buses then we will reschedule for another date.

Our itinerary will commence walking from Tower Hill Station to Covent Garden ( with refreshment stops ) via St. Katherines Dock, Tower Bridge, Borough Market, South Bank and Trafalgar Square.
